Pink Ribbon Tree for Sandy!

Image
As a lot of you may know my sister is a breast cancer patient and has been going through some pretty rough symptoms, treatments and procedures.  She has always been called "Aunt Sandy Claus" by all the nieces and nephews in our family and was well known to go over-the-top on Christmas...whether it be decorations, gifts or sweets.  The last year or so she was not able to put up a tree and her standard decorations.  My husband and I offered with the assistance of our adult children to go and put up her tree and decorations for her but she just wasn't feeling well enough to even do that.  So we got a little tree from Candy Messer at Pier 17's Whistler's Catch gift shop and we decorated it as a pink ribbon themed tree...and this is a picture she took of it...so glad she likes it!

October Blog Hop!

HI and WELCOME to our Halloween or Fall Blog Hop! We have all been busy creating and it has been so much fun!  Our Head Alpha or Den Momma (I say that with LOVE), Elsa issued a challenge to us and some of us took her up on it!  LOL Her challenge this month was for us to create a "slider card" with a Fall or Halloween theme.  Elsa and the other 2 alphas will pick one lucky cub’s project as the best in show and will get a chance to win some goodies!! So…hop along to all the dens...see which cubs participated and then go back to Elsa's Blog ( Elsa) and tell her which you liked the best! (mine mine mine mine) Maybe if a lot of you all go tell her which is your favorite it will convince her to pick me  ME ME ME!! LOL! Just having a little fun! All in all I hope we are able to inspire you to create and have fun! Here is my project… The choice to make a Fall card instead of a Halloween card was a little difficult...because my anniversary is October

We at the Pride...of Just a Few Friends...have been really busy over the last few months!  Our Pride of Lions has grown quite a bit and while we are still doing our monthly projects and hops we have taken on the tasks of doing different swaps with each other.  This month we signed up, got our partners and then we went to creating!  This months swap was for a wooden frame swap!  I got Linda's name and Margaret got mine!  This is the frame I created for Linda using cream, pink and browns!  I hope you enjoy! And I really hope Linda likes this frame I created for her! Just wanted to share some pictures of the frame I received in our Monthly Swap and my frame was sent by Margaret with Aunt Margaret Designs Thank you Margaret for the work you put into making this lovely frame!

Altered Purse for my secret sister Elsa!

Image
Good Morning Everyone!  I just wanted to share an altered project that I did.  The ladies at Just a Few Friends (JAFF)  participated in a swap where we exchanged names with each other and the original five members worked on this project since February.  We wanted to make sure we had enough time to complete this altered purse but also we wanted to fill it with goodies for our "sisters" .  I got Elsa's name and to be honest ....I was stumped!  But I thought about her talent and creativity and I was able to think outside of the box...sothis is what I came up with...my altered purse I made for my secret sister!

Surprise the Pride!

Image
Hello everyone!  We are gathering once again to blog hop and pounce our way through some fun projects! This months theme was "surprise the pride" and we had complete creative freedom this month and each of us have kept our projects a secret!  How fun is that!!!  You all know me!!!  I CAN'T KEEP A SECRET BUT I DID THIS TIME!  YAY! LOL      I would like to welcome you to my blog and my "Surprise" project.   If you came to my blog by accident please go to the beginning of our hop with  Kimi at  http://uniquescrappiness.blogspot.com/  My project is a page layout entitled Summer Blessings. I remember growing up and about this time every year the group of kids in our neighborhood would get together for a summer picnic!  We would save our money all summer, gather pop bottles to turn in for money, do whatever we needed to do to get enough money to buy chips, pop, sandwich stuff and some candy. What a picnic!  What fun we had!  We would play all day and some

July 4th Blog Hop with Just a Few Friends!

Image
Ok everyone!  The Pride is on the prowl!  We have increased in numbers and that means  more fun-filled and wonderful projects!  This could be dangerously fun!  This month's theme is, of course, the 4th of July!  I love July 4th and I love celebrating with my family and friends but most of all this is the time of year when my husband and I decided to begin our lives together over 16 years ago!  It has been such a wonderful journey and I look forward to many years to come! But we must not forget what this day means...it means freedom...freedom to worship, freedom to live, freedom to speak and so many more freedoms! My husband has just surprised me with a trip to the beach...even if it is for just a couple of days, I LOVE the beach!  So when you read this I will be sitting on the beach watching the fireworks!  My project this month is, I believe, a little different than any other post I have done. As some of you know my husband and I have decided to start our own business.  I am a

Happy Father's Day!

Image
Good Morning!  Thank you for Pouncing in with us for our Father's Day Blog Hop! You may have noticed that there are more names in our Pride than before and that is because we have some new CUBS at Just a Few Friend's aka JAFF!  Please prowl on over to their blogs not only to check out their projects for this month but also to welcome them to our group!   We hope you all enjoy! Since this month is Father's Day we have been working on projects with this theme!  My father passed away April 22, 1996 and I miss him so very, very much!  Unfortunately I haven't exactly been much on celebrating Father's day as I used to do.  I am totally ashamed of this and I will tell you all why...I have an amazing husband, Mikel,  who is not only a wonderful father to our son but he is also a terrific father to his 4 other children and step father to my 2 daughters.  His sons, Jamie, Justin, Matthew and Alex have a wonderful man to look up to.  His daughter, Callie, still looks at him

Winterfest 2012 Mini Album!

Image
This is the Scrapbook album I created for our Youth Pastor and his wife. I am posting pics so that my sister can see the album! lol I used the Bo Bunny Mama-razzi paper line.  I did use both sides of the paper...which means that front and back are utilized!  It was interesting and kinda fun!  I loved making the album.  I am learning that not every page has to be a "masterpiece"
