Pink Ribbon Tree for Sandy!

As a lot of you may know my sister is a breast cancer patient and has been going through some pretty rough symptoms, treatments and procedures.  She has always been called "Aunt Sandy Claus" by all the nieces and nephews in our family and was well known to go over-the-top on Christmas...whether it be decorations, gifts or sweets.  The last year or so she was not able to put up a tree and her standard decorations.  My husband and I offered with the assistance of our adult children to go and put up her tree and decorations for her but she just wasn't feeling well enough to even do that.  So we got a little tree from Candy Messer at Pier 17's Whistler's Catch gift shop and we decorated it as a pink ribbon themed tree...and this is a picture she took of glad she likes it!

Good Day and welcome to my Den!  Once again it is time for our Pride to pounce through our creations and bring you the PURRfect projects for the Holidays!  So please join me and the rest of the Pride of Just a Few Friends! Our WILD adventure for this month is to create a Christmas Ornament.  As you join us in our quest today and hop along with us you will be introduced to 13 different styles! 13 different inspirations to create something beautiful to enjoy your Christmas...If you landed here by chance, visit Elsa's Blog so you can hop along from the beginning and not miss a thing.  BTW...did you all know that a mother lion will move her cubs and den site several times a I guess it is cool that we have a blog event every month!!!

My Ornament for this blog hop is a pair of Crocheted lace Christmas Baby Booties!  I have recently started creating Baby things because my husband and I are about to be grandparents for the first time!  So I created these booties to decorate our trees...I made a pair for my step-daughter, Callie and her husband, Rob(THE NEW PARENTS TO BE), her mother and step dad, Rob's parents and of course another pair for our tree!

At the end of this blog post I have shown some other projects I have been working on for local craft shows I have been doing.  I have had a lot of fun and have met some wonderful new local crafting friends in the process. If you please...check them out and then hop on along with the others!
If you've been hopping along then go on Margaret's Blog to see what wonderful creation she has for us!

Here are some other "ornaments" Baby Booties that I have been creating!  I decided to make Pink, Blue and Yellow ones for those who want the baby colors!

October Blog Hop!

HI and WELCOME to our Halloween or Fall Blog Hop! We have all been busy creating and it has been so much fun!  Our Head Alpha or Den Momma (I say that with LOVE), Elsa issued a challenge to us and some of us took her up on it!  LOL Her challenge this month was for us to create a "slider card" with a Fall or Halloween theme.  Elsa and the other 2 alphas will pick one lucky cub’s project as the best in show and will get a chance to win some goodies!! So…hop along to all the dens...see which cubs participated and then go back to Elsa's Blog (Elsa) and tell her which you liked the best! (mine mine mine mine) Maybe if a lot of you all go tell her which is your favorite it will convince her to pick me  ME ME ME!! LOL! Just having a little fun! All in all I hope we are able to inspire you to create and have fun!
Here is my project…
The choice to make a Fall card instead of a Halloween card was a little difficult...because my anniversary is October 17th and my husbands birthday is October 31.  So I had to decide which date I want to showcase...hhhmmmm....???   While I am forever thankful for his birthday and the fact that the world is a much better place with him in it my life is SO much better with him in it so I created a "Fall" card.  Notice the wordplay on the word "fall".
My card says...I love with you every time I see you!
Thanks for stopping by…please visit Linda and see what she created. And if you landed on my blog by chance, pounce on over to Elsa’s blog and start the hop from the beginning!

Just a Few Friends Frame Swap

We at the Pride...of Just a Few Friends...have been really busy over the last few months!  Our Pride of Lions has grown quite a bit and while we are still doing our monthly projects and hops we have taken on the tasks of doing different swaps with each other.  This month we signed up, got our partners and then we went to creating!  This months swap was for a wooden frame swap!  I got Linda's name and Margaret got mine!  This is the frame I created for Linda using cream, pink and browns!  I hope you enjoy!

And I really hope Linda likes this frame I created for her!

Just wanted to share some pictures of the frame I received in our Monthly Swap and my frame was sent by Margaret with Aunt Margaret Designs

Thank you Margaret for the work you put into making this lovely frame!

Altered Purse for my secret sister Elsa!

Good Morning Everyone!  I just wanted to share an altered project that I did.  The ladies at Just a Few Friends (JAFF)  participated in a swap where we exchanged names with each other and the original five members worked on this project since February.  We wanted to make sure we had enough time to complete this altered purse but also we wanted to fill it with goodies for our "sisters" .  I got Elsa's name and to be honest ....I was stumped!  But I thought about her talent and creativity and I was able to think outside of the box...sothis is what I came up altered purse I made for my secret sister!

Surprise the Pride!

Hello everyone!  We are gathering once again to blog hop and pounce our way through some fun projects!
This months theme was "surprise the pride" and we had complete creative freedom this month and each of us have kept our projects a secret!  How fun is that!!!  You all know me!!!  I CAN'T KEEP A SECRET BUT I DID THIS TIME!  YAY! LOL      I would like to welcome you to my blog and my "Surprise" project.
If you came to my blog by accident please go to the beginning of our hop with

My project is a page layout entitled Summer Blessings. I remember growing up and about this time every year the group of kids in our neighborhood would get together for a summer picnic!  We would save our money all summer, gather pop bottles to turn in for money, do whatever we needed to do to get enough money to buy chips, pop, sandwich stuff and some candy. What a picnic!  What fun we had!  We would play all day and sometimes my Dad would let us roast marshmallows late in the evening.  Those are the awesome days of Summer Blessings because you never feel like that again in all your life!

I hope you all have enjoyed this is kinda different in a lot of ways.  I used a mix of flowers and even used the cardboard cover of a mini album I thought I might want to make some time ago but it never seemed to come together...The paper collection is the Mira Collection of K&Co from some years past.

Please hop on over to Linda's blog at

Here is the lineup for our blog hop!  Enjoy!!

July 4th Blog Hop with Just a Few Friends!

Ok everyone!  The Pride is on the prowl!  We have increased in numbers and that means  more fun-filled and wonderful projects!  This could be dangerously fun!  This month's theme is, of course, the 4th of July!  I love July 4th and I love celebrating with my family and friends but most of all this is the time of year when my husband and I decided to begin our lives together over 16 years ago!  It has been such a wonderful journey and I look forward to many years to come! But we must not forget what this day means freedom...freedom to worship, freedom to live, freedom to speak and so many more freedoms! My husband has just surprised me with a trip to the beach...even if it is for just a couple of days, I LOVE the beach!  So when you read this I will be sitting on the beach watching the fireworks!

My project this month is, I believe, a little different than any other post I have done. As some of you know my husband and I have decided to start our own business.  I am a Cosmetologist and he is a Massage Therapist.  We have worked together on and  off through most of our life together and we really enjoy it!  We were going to do this about 5 years ago and decided not to for many different reasons but have decided NOW is the time.  So July 9th we will be Independent Contractors at a local salon called Pier 17...and using our chosen business name "Unforgettable". Unforgettable at Pier 17 has a pretty good ring to

Anyway, I will be doing hair, nails and skin services as well as ear piercings and facepainting parties. One of the things I used to love to do was Nail art.  I had gotten fairly decent at it...if I do say so myself but unfortunately if you don't use lose it.  So I am practicing up and trying to decide if this is a service I will be able to do in our salon...SOOOOO....I have created some nail art to do in celebration of July 4th.  I guess you could claws are out....but in a good way!  I would like to share this with you guys and hope you like them!  It is so much easier to do an a live person..but my husband was the only one in the house and while he is!  I will also be using smaller gem stones in my designs.  The dotted pattern was inspired by Indigonova1 on cute!  Enjoy!

Don't forget that this is a blog hop and you may have gotten to this sight by accident and if you did please start at the beginning with Elsa http:// to enjoy all the projects we have prepared for your viewing! If you came here by way of Kimi at then please hop forward to Linda at http:// We hope to inspire you to create!  Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy the summer!

Happy Father's Day!

Good Morning!  Thank you for Pouncing in with us for our Father's Day Blog Hop! You may have noticed that there are more names in our Pride than before and that is because we have some new CUBS at Just a Few Friend's aka JAFF!  Please prowl on over to their blogs not only to check out their projects for this month but also to welcome them to our group!   We hope you all enjoy!

Since this month is Father's Day we have been working on projects with this theme!  My father passed away April 22, 1996 and I miss him so very, very much!  Unfortunately I haven't exactly been much on celebrating Father's day as I used to do.  I am totally ashamed of this and I will tell you all why...I have an amazing husband, Mikel,  who is not only a wonderful father to our son but he is also a terrific father to his 4 other children and step father to my 2 daughters.  His sons, Jamie, Justin, Matthew and Alex have a wonderful man to look up to.  His daughter, Callie, still looks at him like he is her hero!  She is getting married in a couple of months and this is been very emotional for him.  Her fiancee', Robbie, is a wonderful guy but I think Mikel is a little afraid that his little princess will disappear.  Don't they know that no matter how old we get, we will, for the most part,...always be daddy's little girls???  They always speak to him and about him with all the love and respect in the world.  I am very blessed to have a son with this man...he is one of those guys that you want to raise a son with!  My youngest daughter, Amanda, just got married last July and says that she married someone just like him...which is really the greatest compliment because my son-in-law, Jason, is a wonderful guy and I couldn't have asked for a better mate for my daughter.  My oldest daughter, Cassie,  has her own special relationship with her step-father and I see a lot of my husband's personality in her fiancee' as well.  Jonathan is quiet and reserved at times but will blow you away with his humor...and his tenderness and love to my daughter as well.

So I will never again spend Father's Day only in mourning of the loss of my father...I will remember him in celebration! I will celebrate the time I had with him, all the things I learned from him...both good and bad.  But most of all I will celebrate the other special man in my husband, Mikel, who is such a wonderful father!

I hope you enjoy my Father's Day project!  I want to recognize my husband Mikel in a layout and I wanted to post a picture of a layout I did for my father a while back in remembrance of him as well.

Winterfest 2012 Mini Album!

This is the Scrapbook album I created for our Youth Pastor and his wife. I am posting pics so that my sister can see the album! lol I used the Bo Bunny Mama-razzi paper line.  I did use both sides of the paper...which means that front and back are utilized!  It was interesting and kinda fun!  I loved making the album.  I am learning that not every page has to be a "masterpiece"
